Too Much Noise

too much noise
the drums breathe restless
they kiss us in times of need
we seed growth
sense liquid notes and floats
symphonics on flow tectonics
knocks us to herald the new sounds
we touch swan drift and goose down
warmth never reached us first

silence, silence!

we view noise as an incidental sidekick
to schedules hectic
compounded by sound effects
jammed by traffic vocals
and construction instrumentals
phone cords ringing umbilical
they be the lifeline sometime
need to track feedback on the end of the line
noise starts the time clock
tick-tock
of gunshots and pots and pans
i ran from the noise
shots licked from guitars
only thing that brings me joy
rotate the radio dial
nonsense noise is static
non-dynamic lyrics become cellophane ripped
transparency becomes evidence
in the sense
that the gavel came down
and now there is silence

too much noise
i bend the rules of my voice
hit you in surround sound
turn the volume down

i bend the rules of my voice
hit you in surround sound
turn the volume down

the art of noise came too close to the edit
i require silence
that is

noise minus the interference of volumes too high
that affect the quantity of the quality of life i live by
i hear
tumbleweeds across prairies
the sound of one hand clapping
a tree falling in my forest
the sound of one mouth rapping
ultrasonic thoughts reside in doldrums of eardrums
echoed back and snapped into shapes of seven continents
making minds drift and emit swift vocal waves
that vibrate in decibels 120 feet deep
feel the depth of stereophonic sound and surround
hydroponic waves planted in the underground
floating on blank tapes that transform loud cesspools into therapeutic whirlpools
white noise
rhythm jive break it loose
it be that free wild muse
dancing from eardrum to liquid to brain
to maintain balance on functional stages that the machine enrages
my noise asks that you
vibrate to the velocity of my volume and exhume the number of dead frequencies on TV channels in the next room
my noise asks that you
187 the proposition to bring destruction
put a PA speaker on every corner to call the public to attention

too much noise
i bend the rules of my voice
hit you in surround sound
turn the volume down

i bend the rules of my voice
hit you in surround sound
turn the volume down
